Our 2015 crop of Texel Lambs look very promising.
In 2014 we purchsased two ram lambs at the Society sales. Auchencairn Valiant, by Strathbogie Usher and Cwmcerring Volume, by Baltier Thunderbird. Both have left useful lambs with several by Auchencairn Valiant looking quite outstanding.
With AI we used Cowal Voyager, a well grown son of Milnbank U R the Boy out of a Kelso Pavarotti ewe and Avon Vale Real Deal. Both these rams have excellent Signet figures.
Our stock rams, Cowal Unstoppable, Meon Down Rob Roy and Miserden Tchaikovsky ran as sweepers.
We are particularly impressed with the Cowal Voyager lambs, who all look very similar. Level top lines, great length with excellent loins and gigots. They have heads that are full of character without being too strong, something that suits our customers.
